Jim Hays became the Southern Hills preaching minister in March of 2011. Jim has previously served as pulpit minister for the Lord’s church in Goldthwaite, Texas and for the North Oaks church in Santa Clarita, California, a northern suburb of Los Angeles.

Jim is a native Texan, born in the panhandle community of Shamrock. But he was raised in the oil and gas fields of southeastern New Mexico. A career in radio broadcasting took Jim all over America to places like Abilene, Odessa and El Paso in Texas; Fresno, CA; Columbus, OH; Ocean City, MD; and Los Angeles.

Jim is a lifelong member of the Lord’s church, obeying the gospel in October of 1971. But he received the call to preach in 2002 while working in Los Angeles.

The Southern Hills church’s commitment to outreach and service to those outside the faith with the maturation of believers in Christ gives Jim enthusiasm as he works each week to connect the relevant message of God's love with the seekers and believers who gather.

Jim is greatly blessed with a wonderful wife, Deborah, and they have three grown children, Michelle and Anthony of Los Angeles and James, a student at the University of North Texas in Denton.
