Our Faith

We believe that the only true and living God, Creator of the heavens and earth, revealed himself in the history of Israel and in his son, Jesus of Nazareth.

Though Jesus died a criminal's death on a cross, we believe that Jesus was confirmed by His resurrection from the dead to be the Servant and King foretold by Israel's prophets.

We believe that Jesus is now at the right hand of God the Father.

We believe that through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, the Father is reconciling the universe-His creation-to Himself. In the gift of His Son and His Spirit to believers through immersion, God reveals Himself as continually giving and blessing our lives from His own life.

We believe, as Christians, we are called to reflect the nature and purposes of our Father as revealed in Jesus. We are called to live lives that praise God and walk in the way of Jesus, who served others rather than Himself.

We believe, Christians await a final judgment by Jesus the Christ, of things done in the body. But we also await a new heavens and a new earth in which we will be raised in new bodies to know God as we are known by Him, seeing Him face to face.

We believe that scripture teaches and the early church practiced baptism as immersion of believers for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We believe scripture teaches us to honor the Lord at his table, breaking and eating the bread, drinking the cup of the new covenant, anticipating our reunion with him on a weekly basis.

We believe scripture teaches us and the early church (and all Christians for hundreds of years) practiced worshipping in songs and hymns by a cappella music.

We believe in the priesthood of believers, attempting to equip all believers to grow spiritually, exercise their gifts for the common good of the church.
